New season of cycling

Well it is that time of the year again–time to start my cycling season! I have set my goal of 2000 km for the season, and just did my first 25 km. With the way the weather has been lately though, it may be quite difficult to keep up a decent routine. Hopefully the springtime showers won’t continue much longer, and we can get into the nicer, sunny days that lend themselves to cycling. I hope to try some different paths this year, including some more rigorous trails.

Libera Song of Life mini-album

This morning, I buckled down and decided to purchase the new Libera mini-album (Miracle of Life, or Song of Life [depending on the translation]) from Japan. It is apparently the soundtrack to Verde Madonna. It was ¥3150 (~ £23.33 / €26.44 / $38.50 USD) from HMV Japan. Though it was a bit pricey for one new song, I loved the song that much at the performances that I had to get a copy. I know that I could have purchased a download of it, but I just don’t like the quality of the downloads. I would rather extract my own FLAC or hi-bitrate OGG from the disc.

Anyway, it will likely arrive next week, and once it does, I will certainly post a review of the album (especially the title track). The solos are by Ralph Skan, and backing by James Mordaunt. I hope it is as lovely as it was in concert, and I’ll venture a guess that it is. 🙂

Toronto Day 6: Going Home

Not all that much to write about today, as most of it will be waiting at the airport for our flight. The nice thing, though, is that this new flight is direct and non-stop, so it won’t be as long in the air. Before heading to the airport, we decided to have one last nice meal. We went to an Italian restaurant called Le Scala near Pearson International Airport. We started with some wonderfully toasted bruschetta. I had gnocchi in a light red sauce, and she had a salad with salmon, dried cranberries, and goat cheese. For dessert, I had some tiramisu which had a very strong coffee flavour, and she had tartufo (an AWESOME mix of chocolate and vanilla gelato covered in cocoa powder). We enjoyed the meal, but I was a bit disappointed that the tartufo didn’t have the hazelnut coating mixed with the cocoa powder.

We dropped off the car, and waited a few hours for our flight. This flight was only delayed by about 30 minutes, which isn’t bad at all compared to our flight coming to Toronto!

In reference to the lovely performances, and as said by tour newcomer Jude, Merci beaucoup (for reading about our trip, that is). 🙂
