xorg-1.10.1, nvidia-drivers-270.41.03, and the terminal emulator

Ever since the last system update (which included xorg-1.10.1 and nvidia-drivers-270.41.03), I have had an annoying problem regarding desktop drawing. Any time that I open LXterminal, a black box the same size as the default terminal window appears in the upper-left corner of my primary display. Interestingly, it only seems to happen when I open up a terminal emulator. Even more interestingly, it happens with any terminal emulator that I use. I briefly installed terminal (the default in Xfce), and gnome-terminal, and they both exhibited the same problem. I’m going to try a few more tests before filing a bug in either the Gentoo Bugzilla, or an appropriate upstream bug system. If anyone has done more extensive troubleshooting, please let me know.

Libera programmes from the Canadian tour

We have a bunch of Libera programmes from the recent Canadian tour available for purchase. All of the proceeds will go directly to support the choir. For now, they can be purchased through Kent’s eBay account, but I will also be selling them in the near future. Here’s a link to the news article about them:

or the direct link to the current eBay auction (mine will be posted once it is available):

New quotes

I finally got around to adding the fifty new quotes that I have collected over the last several months. As usual, there is a good combination of serious and funny ones (thus the tagline for my blog). 😉 I hope you enjoy them, and no, I won’t mind if you want to keep hitting refresh to see a new one.
