Engine update…yet again

Today I went to go check on the car. Kyle is in place and everything seems to be going smoothly. I had to bring up the fuel lines so that the fuel could go from the firewall line to the block itself. I notice something quite odd though. It looks like there is a big smudge on my rear bumper. As I get closer, I realize that it is actually a hole. While installing the battery in the trunk, the tech drilled through the bumper. It was an accident, so I really couldn’t be angry. They are paying to have it repaired.

On a nicer note, I get to take a bunch of unopened parts back to the Acura dealer. They didn’t need them because they either came on the engine, or my stock ones worked fine. I’m pretty excited about getting some of that money back.

I hope that the full swap will be done sometime tomorrow afternoon. The tech told me he didn’t think that would be a problem at all, and that he would call.

That’s all for now.

Car troubles

Well today turned out to not be the best in the K-swap world. This morning I got a phone call saying that I needed to get the fuel feeder line for an RSX type-S. I thought I wouldn’t need it because my stock D17 ones should work fine. However, those lines had to be cut for the turbo kit’s throttle injectors. Either way, I had them overnighted, so they’ll be here tomorrow morning.

That was bad news, but later came the really stupid crap. I found out the following:

  • The radiator fan didn’t fit, so I have to buy a universal 12″ slim fan.
  • The throttle cable didn’t work, so my stock one was custom-fitted.
  • The battery will not fit up front.

The battery issue is the one that is bothering me right now. I have a couple options. First, I can get a battery relocating kit and move it to the trunk. Second, I can have a mount and tie completely custom fabricated and keep it up front on the driver’s side. I would really rather keep it under the hood, but it is so much more expensive and time consuming. I’m just worried about all my stereo stuff getting interference.

I’ll keep you posted.
