After I have used this new release for some time, I will report back on my experiences. I hope that some of you Thunderbird users will do the same, and file bugs if necessary.

Why does Thunderbird ebuild not use xulrunner in the same way that Firefox ebuild does? It would be nice if they both used the same shared underlying library to save ram.
Having Thunderbird use XULRunner has been in the works for some time now. I am not sure if that document is outdated or if the progress has paused. I'm sure that when upstream takes care of the issue, it will be rapidly worked into the ebuild.
this is a great improvement over 2.x -- thanks to you and the team for getting it in the tree so quickly!
I actually can't take credit for getting it into the tree quickly, as I am not a part of that development team. However, I agree with you that it is fantastic as compared to 2.x. If you run into any issues regarding TB3.x, I urge you to file a bug report. ![]()
